Whitey Picks – Weds January 6th

Lock of the Day:

Tocco D’oro in the 6th race at Aqueduct (#10)

Comes out of key maiden race where storm’s majesty blew away a good field of maidens. It was his first start of his career for Bruce Levine who excels in 2nd start runners. The son of touch of gold gets lasix for his 2nd start, drops in class to mdn claimer. Storm’s Majesty – the winner of the first race – came back to win an allowance race in his 2nd start and other runners who raced in the key race came back to win. Doubt we will get the morning line of 7-2 but anything above 2-1 is a steal. WIn bet.

Strong Plays:

Roma’s Girl in the 3rd at Laurel (#3)

Ran into a well meant first timer in Royal Tidings on December 12th. Roma was bet in his debut and made some noise late. Now he stretches out to a mile for a high percentage trainer. The odds of 8-1 are an overlay. We’ll hope to get 5-1. Win and place bets.

Action Plays

Alys in the 10th race at gulfstream (#10)

Alys comes out of key maiden race at aqueduct where Wild News was an absolute monster. Wild news won his next start and was entered in a stakes race last sunday but it was canceled. the 2nd place finisher EZ PAsser won his next start and all evidence points to that being a key race. Alys ran third to Wild NEws is his first start and makes his 2nd start today in a very tough field at Gulfstream for trainer John Kimmel. He is worth a small win and place bet.

Longshot play of the Day

One Brave Cat in the 2nd at Aqeudect (#1)

Ran into a monster in his last start at philly park – Noah’s Dream won by 10 that day for the % Motion Barn and was a well meant first timer. Brave Cat drops in class today and is listed at 12-1 on the morning line. 2 starts back he faced Run to Grand Ave who ran in a stakes last saturday. Hook him up with gold cup kid in the exacta box (He exits a key race himself and will be the fav) and a small win bet is recommended.

****Adding Pick***

Strong Play:

Benedicta in the 6th at Laurel (#4)

Broke his maiden 3 starts back for 40k in good time. Faced better on two off tracks in last two. Now he drops in class to a claimer 25k. His last was deceptive because the horse that won the race at Philly Insurance Money is a good horse. ANd the 3rd place finisher in that race Proud Kate just ran a great 2nd in a starter allowance at the BIG A vs a 2-5 shot. Win Place bets.

Good Luck
