Capper's Corner

After a brief hiatus, Whitey is back for some nice philly park longshot picks. I’ve been waiting for the donkeys that ran on the 18th of december to run back and a few are today. That day, wide was horrendous as almost every horse wider than the two path was tiring badly and it looked like they were running in quicksand. We’ll try and take advantage of some overlays that the betting public will give us due to the darkened form from the 18th. The angle has already produced nice results with Jaydens hope blowing away a field by 15 lengths in his next start after being caught wide on the 18th. Others have come back to run well.

Race 1

I’ll take a crack at a nice cold exacta box. Bikini raced against Affluent Lady in last. Affluent Lady was a monster drop down winner that day that went off at 4 to 5. Affluent Lady ran back to score in a starter allowance while the runners from the previous race have run back to win. The 11th place finisher (Phat Dream) won a 5k race at penn national at 31 to 1. And the 6th place finisher (Benecia Blue eyes) won back at philly at 11-1. Bikini is 7-2 on ML. The other horse I’ll use is One Cookie Edna who was wide on the aforementioned day at philly as the favorite. He is 5-1. Win 8 – Box 1-8 in exacta.

Race 2

Needless to Say ran mid pack in the Affluent Lady race and at 15-1 on ML makes an intersting longshot play. Whats more interesting is that Angel Serpa – the hot bug boy from NY – is slated to ride. This is his only mount of the day. The other intersting longshot is highland rapids. He is making his 2nd start off a layoff where he was competing in allowance races. First race back he was in NW2 15k and now drops to nw2 7500. He is listed at 12-1. I’ll be boxing these two longshots with teh favorite in 3 horse exacta and tri boxes.

Win 3 and 8

Race 4

Precious Jane ran on the 18th and was caught wide. The trainer has since entered and scratched the horse multiple times. The horse should run big at 9-2. I’ll also use in exacta box with cookies turn (3-1). Win 5 – exacata box 5-6.

Race 7

I like two longshots in this one…Dance for a Buck ran wide on dec 18th and has been scratched a few times since. He is 15-1. And Alytania also ran wide in the same race. He is listed at 8-1.
