Picks for May 15th
Here are my longshot selections for Saturday, May 15th…
I have listed track, horse, number, and expected post time.
Win and place wagers are recommended unless otherwise noted.
Check scratches before race.
Best Bets:
Belmont Race 3 – Quick Ride (#7) 12-1- 2:04 pm – Has been in numerous key races and ran very well against Eskendereya, the best 3yo in country. Gets blinks. Should roll late.
Belmont Race 8 – Golly Day (#4)12-1 – 4:44pm – Ran against best turf horses in country including a few horses who were pointed for derby. Trainer great with turf runners.
Penn National – Race 5 – Marushka (#3) 10-1 – 8:38 – Faced tough open claimers at philly and jumps up to allowance. Two great angles. He is 5 time winner facing horses who have only won twice, and he is controlling speed.
Delaware Park – Race 9 – Loaded Lady (#2) 10-1 – 4:51 – Should get speed duel in front of him. First time starter has class and mom loved del park. Trainer does well with off pace types. If the 1 or 3 horse is scratched this is a no play. They are needed for duel.
Pimlico – Race 5 – Robey’s choice (#4) 12-1 12:57 pm – Trainer on fire and is great with grass runners. Meets weak field and can pull the upset.
Belmont – Race 7 – Missile (#11) 6-1 4:12 pm – Loves Belmont and is dropping 2nd after layoff.
Strong Plays
Churchill – Race 6 – Genisa (#8) 5-1 – 3:25 pm – Son of storm cat should like surface switch to dirt. Ran well against monster in debut.
Finger Lakes – Race 5 – Anna’s Fireball (#7) – 6-1 – 2:58 – Love first start as 3 yo dropping from MSW to maiden claimer.
Penn National – Race 4 Lapaka Keoni (#5) – 8-1 – 8:13 –Excuses in last two and faced tough foes at philly before that.
Penn National – Race 8 – Profit (#3) 6-1 9:53 – Faced rugged rival in tougher company. Drop in class will be beneficial.
Arlington Park – Race 1 – USS Inchon (#7) 10-1 1:15 pm – Can win if he likes synethetic. Drop and turnback are pluses
Arlington Park – Race 2 – Malibu Vice (#4) 10-1 1:44 pm – Son of Malibu moon should love turf. Gets lasix for 3yo debut.
Degenerates Only
Pimlico – Race 4 – Money for Love (#6) 20-1 12:18 pm – Loves Pimlico. Can shock the field.
Philly Park Race 2 – 12:48 Do an exacta box 1-2-4. The 1 and 2 are adding blinks and stretching out against weak field.
Delaware Park – Race 1 – Caesars Gold (#4) 8-1 1:15 pm- Putting on blinks and can change race tactics. Meets weak field.
Delaware Park – Race 3 – Billie B Quick (#11) – 20-1 2:09 pm – Vet is 7 for 18 on Turf and takes drop. Only concern is layoff.
Philly Park – Race 11 – Five for Love (#5) – 20-1 4:42 pm – Has improved since taking off blinks. Turf was throwout. Drops in class for crafty trainer.
Arlington Park – Race 7 – Classic Choice (#9) 10-1 4:20 pm – Will be controlling speed on turf and speed usually holds well on Arlington turf, especially after rain.
Arlington – Race 4 – Pathway (#7) 5-1 2:45 – Loves turf so he should like synthetic. 2nd race after layoff could be key for this guy to find winners circle.
